This week’s Miller Grove News column will be short because I haven’t had enough time to dig up any good information to include for this article. The main event in our area is getting ready for the first day of school, which will be Monday, Aug. 23. Any Pre-Kindergarteners6th Grade students that would like to bring their supplies to school and meet their teacher may do so at “Meet the Teacher Night” which will be this Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m.

Happy Birthday to D.J. Spencer on Aug. 15 and Kathy Wren on Aug. 20.

I’m sure most of the readers heard the strange rumor that Butch Hall had a heart attack this weekend. Notice I said “rumor.” No one knows how the rumor got started but there isn’t a thing wrong with Butch. He is just fine and going at full speed as usual.

Thursday Faye Tipps and I went to see Mrs. Doney Kincade who lives in North Hopkins. She is a relative of the Wren family and lived in Center Point and Brashear when she was growing up. We
