Lucy McCorkle called on Monday evening with this week's wildflower report. She wants us to look for the lemon paintbrush and drummond, which are wild onions with red tops. She hopes you are watching for these flowers. Our back pasture is loaded with regular Indian paintbrush. Beautiful.

This morning, I heard on KSST that a local man bought a calf and then turned around and donated it again. It was sold 15 times for approximately $10,000 to be donated to the West community. They said this was happening all around the state, too. Good things are going on to help others in need.

Please note that they are selling yard signs to help assist the Carmody family. Their 4-year-old daughter has recently been diagnosed with leukemia and is undergoing chemo. You may purchase a yard sign at Central Baptist Church; the funds will go to helping pay the medical bill for Phoebe. Please pray for Phoebe and the Carmody family.

Garden has been back a little but coming on strong. We are eating a lot of greens right now. Good stuff!

If you take the time to look, you will find purple vervain, lockspur, blue-eyed grass, spiderworts and primrose are starting to bloom. Lucy wants everyone to take a little time and look at the beautiful growth all around us.

Another week of beautiful weather with some rain in the forecast; we are blessed. We still need some measurable rain to get our pools up to their full level. I know that most of the pools around us are full, but not ours.
