What beautiful weather we are having! Even the rain is welcomed since it is coming a little at a time. Make sure you have a little time to enjoy the weather, flowers or the beautiful sunsets we have been having.
Had a call from Opal Garner Clapp last weekend, and she wanted to let us know that Lurline Buckholt has gone to a nursing home, Pioneer Manor, in Irving. If you would like to contact Lurline, let me know and I will get an address for you.
Brashear lost one of their own last week, when Joe Higginbotham passed away. We want to send our condolences to the family on their loss.
Brashear Baptist Church had a wonderful Easter Cantata. There were over 300 in attendance for the beautiful Easter music. Fay Robinson and Richard Woodall had beautiful solos.
Brashear Baptist Church will also be hosting a Fish Fry and Christian Concert on Saturday, April 18. The Fish Fry will benefit the Youth Summer Camp 2009. The Fish Fry will start around 5:00 p.m. with serving in the new Family Life Building. The Concert, Psalm 100, will follow in the church sanctuary. Let’s all try to turn out to support our local youth.
Carolyn Vaughan wanted me to know that her grandson, Kaden, has been released from the doctor. He had the bar removed from his leg and has to take it easy for a few days. His brother, Kaleb, will also be competing in Collingsworth for district track in four events. Go Kaleb.
Frankie Sanders had surgery on Monday, and we wish her a speedy recovery. Let’s hope she gets to come home real soon.
Ran into Rodney Caudle the other day at the post office, and I found out that Rodney had purchased some land in our area of the county. It is always good to know who your neighbors are. He said we will see him out there a lot because he likes to fish.
Don’t forget the Master Gardeners Plant Swap on Saturday, April 18. It will run from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in Sulphur Springs behind the Stewart State Farm Insurance Building. Hope to see you there. Make sure to take some time to enjoy all the beautiful things growing around you. We are already eating radishes and onions. Yum.
