Exciting news! Brashear Bash is coming back May 18. Put it on your calendar. If you are interested in renting a spot, let Carolyn Vaughan, Linda Almon or myself know.

We are so excited. We did not have one in 2012 because we were in great shape with funds to keep the Community Center running. So here we are in 2013 having our Bash to help fund our Community Center. Hope to see you there.

Garden Update: Tom says he has a lot of things coming up. Turnips are looking great. Turnip greens are almost ready if you like fresh greens. One garden has beets, spinach, radishes and mustard greens up. Looking good but still need more rain. Our pools are still low. Not sure we can stand another dry summer for our pool in the back. Pray for rain.

While shopping at Wal-Mart on Tuesday morning, I ran into Mrs. McCorkle. Her family lived on the land across from our property. She wanted to know how her old home site was holding up. So fun to meet people who used to live in the area where you live now.

It has been sad to see all of the dead trees. There are some I feel we had better watch out on these windy days. Someone could be hurt.

More to come on Brashear Bash, watch for more news. Always remember, you can call me at 903-612-8806, email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , or drop by County Road 1119 and visit. Take care and may God bless you and yours.
