I have decided to exercise my right as an American. Our family loves to camp and there has been talk in the legislature of closing some of the state parks. So we wrote to our

representatives to ask them to reconsider. This is such an inexpensive way for families to enjoy the outdoors. Our state parks are something to share and cherish, especially for generations to come.
Scott Eugene Fouse of Brashear has been named as one of 505 Eastern Kentucky University Dean's Award recipients for the Fall 2012 semester. Fouse is a senior forensic science major at EKU.
The weather has been incredible for February. I heard the weatherman say we are about 15 to 20 degrees warmer than our norm. I like the warmer weather — just keep the pollen down.
I hope some of you got a chance to enjoy the Health Fair at the ROC (First Baptist Church Sulphur Springs’ Recreational Outreach Center) last week. Karon Weatherman told me it will be a bi-annual happening from here on out. It will be held in the fall and the spring. We are so blessed to be able to have something such as this to help us keep up with necessary health issues and health questions. They can answer so many questions that senior citizens are facing every day. Kudos to the health professionals who make this available to the people of Hopkins County.
I had another opportunity to eat at Sharon's bar-b-q. Good stuff. Thanks, Sharon.
Still hoping more news will come as spring fast approaches. I guess a proud grandmother can brag on our Colby being student of the month at Kids Central. Yeah, Colby! Take care and remember to call me at 903-612-8806; email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ; or come on by CR 1119. Always love visiting and we can sit and chew the fat awhile.
