Rain, sweet rain. We had only a trace on Tuesday but we will take it. We have not gotten any of the other rain that Sulphur Springs receiveddff. Our garden perked up real fast. The cool weather is nice too.

What does summer mean to you? Well, Tom went over to Koon Lake and he found the answer: Camping with your kids. Good going Kody. Just what every kid loves.

Gardening again is the topic of choice. We run into people every day and they ask, “How is your garden doing?” We can say emphatically it is awesome, the best, I would have to say, in five or six years. We are getting vegetables that we have not gotten in the past with the drought and the grasshoppers. Tom is keeping me busy canning and freezing vegetables.

Hope Community Center is having a Rummage Sale this Friday, June 22, and Saturday, June 23. It will be open Friday from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. The times for Saturday are from 8 a.m.. to 4 pm. The money is to go toward some improvements that are being made to the building. There will be a work day to clean, paint and touch up the facility. We would love for any of you to come by and see what Hope Community Center is all about.

The Dinner Bell is serving this Wednesday, so don't forget if you know of anyone who is hungry to send them to First United Methodist Church.

The Brashear Baptist Church has started a food ministry for the shut-ins in Brashear. As of now, they are feeding about 13 people each week. Please call Brashear Baptist Church if you know of someone who can benefit from this ministry.

Brashear Baptist Church is also hosting The Gospel Music Artists Association June Showcase on June 23, 2012. It will start at 6 p.m. Psalm 100, the Messengers from Greenville, Cindy Gallant and Messengers of Song willl. A love offering will be taken. For more information visit www.thegmaa.com/

We heard the equipment running on CR 1114 so it looks like it is getting resurfaced. I know everyone appreciates this. Thank you, work crew Precinct 1.

Just heard from a friend that the wind had caused some damage at her house o ot had knocked out power at her house. The wind will be attacking the dead trees around, so be weary.
