Happy Thanksgiving to all of you far and wide. Thanksgiving is a day for us to be thankful for all that we have.

There are several people in our community who might not have food or transportation to get food. Ask around and make sure your neighbors are taken care of.

To those who might not have food or a place to go, the Family Life Church is cooking Thanksgiving dinner at Los Mochis Restaurant. Call the Family Life Church for more information.

Also, the Senior Citizens Center was serving turkey dinner with generous portions on Wednesday. They will be closed on Thursday.

We are going to have to cancel the Brashear event that was scheduled for Dec. 3. The date will be set for some time after the New Year. Please keep up with Brashear News for details on the new date.

I have been wondering about ways to communicate with others in Brashear. Not everyone takes the newspaper, so I was wondering if we might be able to set up some kind of notice board at The Ole Store? Let me know if you think this would be a good idea.

Prayers are going up for Pastor David Burns. He is doing well after his heart attack, but we want to make sure he has all the prayers he can get.

Has anyone else seen a lot of coyotes around lately? We have had coyotes crossing our land at all times of the day. They are really big. We have even been outside when they are close, and they do not seem to be too scared of us.

The rain has been a blessing. We have had approximately three quarters of an inch. Come on, more rain! I think it is the first time in about six months that it has been this muddy. Who would have thought we would be excited by mud?

Congratulations to the 2011 Sulphur Springs Wildcat football team. Our Wildcats finished the game with a big push and conducted themselves with character. We are very proud of them.

I want to ask forgiveness about missing last week's article deadline. I was out of town and completely forgot that I needed to write an article. I had been invited to Thanksgiving dinner at my granddaughter's school. How can a grandmother refuse, right?
