Wasn’t Tuesday morning delightful? It was so cool almost like an early fall morning. I know I am crazy but I can wish can’t I?
How are the grasshoppers at your place? They have not eaten everything in sight yet! How about you? Up the road, they are like the parting of the waves when Moses crossed the Red Sea. Sorry folks, that is what it seems like to me when you walk through the yard or pasture. Let’s hope that the drought will get rid of them soon.
I heard that my friend, Ron Bramlett, killed 18 water moccasins at Lake Lucy last week. Now, I am not sure about you, but that makes my skin crawl. My question to Ron is “Did you have nightmares that night about snakes?”
We sure enjoyed the 4th of July celebration on the square on Saturday night. It was a little hot but the music and fireworks made up for it. I got to visit with a lot of friends. We saw the Baxters with their family there, and Kim sang beautifully.
It is time again for everyone to step up and help our fellow man. The CANHelp organization along with Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church are trying to help those who are less fortunate. They are asking our help by sponsoring a personal hygiene drive. All donations will go back into our community to help; a family in need, that otherwise would not be able to purchase the personal hygiene products that we so often take for granted. Some of the items needed are as follows: shampoo/conditioner, bath soap, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, Q-tips, toothpaste, baby diapers, baby lotion, baby wash, baby wipes, disinfectant wipes, general cleaner and dish soap.
If you would like to help, please take your donations to Pacific Park on Saturday, July 9, or take them by CANHelp. If your church or community organization would like to hold a personal hygiene drive to benefit our community, call Kim McCormack at 903-885-9797, ext. 4.
We had two bad evenings of wind last week and had roof damage both times. Take the time to check your roof and make sure everything is alright. We have had to fix our roof as well as my mother’s. Love the rain but we can do without so much wind. I hear some of you are getting more rain than others. Keep up the prayers for more rain.
