Brashear Bash is fast approaching. I am getting so excited about all that is going to transpire on Saturday, April 2. The Bash is a fundraiser for the Brashear Community Center. Brashear Bash is also a day of garage sales, ball field sales and a hamburger sack lunch. We want everyone to come be a part of our day. If you want a table in the Family Life Building at Brashear Baptist Churh, the fee is $5. If you want a map at the ball fields to your garage sale, your fee is $5. If you want to set up on the ball field to sell some things, your fee is $5. Remember the $5.
I want to clear up some misconceptions about the Bash. To everyone who is interested in having a table, directions to their garage sale or an area on the ball field, the money you make is all yours. The hamburger sack lunch will be $5 with the money going toward the Community Center. I will be on the ball field, and everything I sell has been donated. All of the money I make will be going toward refurbishing the Community Center. We want to thank Cumby Telephone for their donations toward repairing the floor at the Community Center and for providing the hamburgers. We are so grateful.
We have received one estimate on repairing the floor of the Community Center. The floor needs to be leveled, and some minor work should be done under the floor. The goal is to have that much done by homecoming in June. Watch for more news on renovations being done.
Marie Bramlett called and wanted a flyer for Brashear Bash to be placed at the Pioneer Café. If you would like to put one in your place of business, call me and I will make sure you get one.
The weather has been nice. I have been walking a lot this week. I know how far in the boonies I am when I walk and all I see are cows and one raccoon! There have also been a lot of red tail hawks about.
Garden doing well? I hope so; ours is coming along. Glen George stopped to talk garden with Tom the other day. Glen loves to experiment with different things while we stick with the sure things.
Please pray for our community. There are people here in our small city who are hurting, and prayer will help them.
I want everyone to stop and enjoy life. Life is too short to spend it just hurrying up and getting things done. Take time to learn about your neighbors.
