We want to express our sympathy to the family of Johnny Weir. He passed away on Saturday, and his funeral service was held at the Tira Methodist Church on Tuesday. After his burial in Tira Cemetery, the family gathered for lunch at the Tira Community Center. Please keep his family in your prayers.
Nancy Potts and her twin sister, Patty Lindsey, celebrated their 40th birthday party in McKinney. They enjoyed dinner at Rick's Steakhouse, followed by a party at Patty's house with dear family and friends.
Linda Andrasko came to visit Sandra Wester Friday afternoon. They enjoyed some delicious Italian food at San Remo’s restaurant in Sulphur Springs Friday night. Afterward, they played Scrabble while waiting for Kelly Lawrence and her dog, Charlie, to arrive from McKinney. Kelly joined them in a game of Scrabble after she arrived. Kelly began painting trim in a bedroom on Saturday. Her sister, Karyn Lawrence Horne, arrived Saturday afternoon, and they both painted the walls. They called it a “painting party,” but Sandra and Linda got tired just watching and helping when needed. Karyn returned to McKinney Sunday afternoon and Kelly and Charlie left Sunday night. Charlie enjoyed his visit to the country. Linda returned to Henderson Monday afternoon. Everyone enjoyed the painting party, and Sandra was most appreciative of the work that was done.
Von and Janie Prahl, Joyce Dodd, Mary Helen Foster and Dana visited Helen Weir on Saturday.
North Hopkins students and staff enjoyed a day off on Tuesday due to the bad weather. Thankfully, the roads didn’t really get bad, but I will be glad when the warmer weather returns.
