Is there any other way to say it but, HOT! How in the world did we survive back in the 50s and 60s without air conditioning? I can remember every summer going to my grandmother‘s, Lela

Bland, house and hitting every fishing hole in Cumby. We fished all day and never felt hot. No way can I do that today. Please do not tell me it is age.

Mrs. Patsy Mahaffay called and nominated her kids yard for Yard of the Month. I will be forwarding the application on to the Master Gardeners. Thanks for calling.

We went to Carriage House on Sunday and visited with Modene Huggins. Modene goes to church at First United Methodist Church-Sulphur Springs but she used to attend the FUMC in Brashear. She is doing well.

A big thank you to Sherry Baxter for the Angel food cake. We loved it. I also appreciate the recipe too. Can’t wait to make one.

JoBeth Levine called today wanting a Green Tomato Relish. Does anybody have a good one? I don’t so sent her to the internet.

You all know that I often talk about the Senior Citizen Center and I have more I want to say. Pat Mallory is getting a bus trip for seniors together to go to San Antonio. Just go by the Center for more information. It looks like fun and you do not have to drive. You get to set back and enjoy the drive.

Happy birthday to Abygail Darrow, 8/4; Leah Frazier, 8/5; Pat Higginbotham and Bryan Wright, 8/6; Jodi Bailey, 8/7; Bradley Teague, 8/8; and Buck Craig and Gary Bolton, 8/9.

Congratulations to Kendra Dannheim and Blake Fisher on their marriage last weekend. We wish them both the very best.

Has anyone had tree frogs around their house? We were painting this week and noticed that we had two on our bedroom windows. I think they are looking for some place cool.

Tom picked catalpa worms to go fishing but it is too hot. Come on by if you need some.
