Rain, rain, go away. Please do not come back for a good while. We have had enough rain lately. Has anyone ever seen this much rain in one month, especially October?
To start the news today, I first want to thank all of you for the sweet thoughts, cards, and prayers we have received in regards to Tom's Dad passing. As I heard said last week, “He was a good man.” He truly was, and will be missed.
Rain anyone? We have had a lot of rain lately and it sounds like we are in for some more. Take precautions, for we do not anyone to have to worry about flash flooding.
Next Tuesday, Oct. 13, do not forget the Senior Expo at New Beginnings Church. It begins at 9 a.m. and continues until noon. Free health screenings, flu shots, insurance questions answered, pre-need counseling, body composition checks, blood oxygen levels, foot checks for diabetics, and much more. We who are categorized as senior citizens need to take advantage of this program. Hope to see you there.

Oct. 17 is a day to put on your calendar for the Cumby Telephone Cooperative Membership Meeting. Please stop by and say hello while you are there.
Time sure flies by fast, but always remember to take the time to say thank you to everyone who has been nice to you lately. They are some basic rules to life. “Please” and “thank you” are two that must be used more often in today's world. I guess I will get off of my soapbox now.
Remember to let me know what is going on in your neighborhood by calling 903-612-8806; e-mail at ddyoung@cawb.com; or just come on by for a visit.
