“Julie & Julia” is a film about following dreams, self-transformation, and the importance of love. Frankly, I hate films where this theme is so explicit. They're usually bland. But something about "Julie & Julia" keeps it spicy and delicious – and it's not just all the butter.

While putting off going to the grocery store (one of my least favorite things to do because let’s face it, it’s depressing to go in with a list then based on how flat your pocketbook already was to begin with spend what little you had left with considerably less than what was on the list!) with my 10-year-old in tow, I remembered seeing the listing for “Up” in the paper the other day. I knew I had to go to the store for necessities that couldn’t wait until the next day but really dragging my feet on my day off.

Yes,“Terminator Salvation” is a high-adrenaline action-adventure film with robots, car chases and — of course — gargantuan explosions. But at the core of this sci-fi flick is a surprising hope for the resilience of what makes us human: our souls. Yet “Terminator Salvation” is also a visceral tale of humanity.
Sometimes films are so bad you stay to watch the ending, hoping that something will happen in the final few minutes to redeem the movie. "Knowing," starring Nicolas Cage and Rose Byrne, is quite the opposite.
