LINDEN – The Dallas trio known as Beatlegras has offered to travel to Linden’s Music City Texas Theater on Saturday, Jan. 23, to stand in for Hal Ketchum, who was scheduled as the headliner for the evening, but was forced to cancel due to circumstances beyond his control.

“Beatlegras has graced the MCT stage with two stellar performances which induced standing ovations from very thrilled audiences,” said Richard Bowden, MCT director. “This show is a must-see for Beatle fans and bluegrass fans alike.”

Bowden continued, saying, “With incomparable musicianship and their unique way of adapting your favortie Beatles’ classic tunes to their own incredible style, these gentlemen will surely leave you with a smile on your face and a feeling that you've seen something entirely different.”

As an added bonus, Jubal Lee Young will open the show. A gifted songwriter and story-teller, Young comes by his talent honestly. His father is Steve Young, who wrote The Eagles’ hit ‘Seven Bridges Road.’

“The best news is, we have lowered the ticket price to $20 for this show,” Bowden said. “This is a bargain by anybody’s standards, especially when you consider the quality of performances our audiences have grown to expect from Music City Texas Theater.”

Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

The concession stand will be open for food and refreshments.

For more information or to make arrangements for advance tickets, contact MCT at 903-756-9934 weekdays from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Editor's note: I first heard Beatlegras play before a Turtle Creek Chorale show at the Majestic Theater in Dallas. I couldn't imagine a band playing a blend of bluegrass and the Fab Four, but these guys do it. Each is a top notch musician with deep musical backgrounds. It also doesn't hurt that they are some of the nicest people you've ever met.

When they get together, it's magic. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Enjoy!
