Heart-felt lyrics, inspiring melodies with clear, strong vocals and the backing of an award-winning producer are the backbone for Petty’s latest album, “I’m Falling.”
“I’m Falling” was coproduced with Grammy-award winning artist Brad Davis, who adds studio production experience, guitar mastery and matched vocal harmonies.
Petty, who is represented by Blanchard Management Group (BMG) of Nashville, recently signed with Music Entertainment Records, also of Nashville.
BMG also represents Oscar-nominated singer-songwriter and country legend Lynn Anderson and Lane Brody. Davis is also represented by the management company.
Petty’s early influences include Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette and Dolly Parton.
Petty considers one of her greatest accomplishments to be that of portraying country music legend Patsy Cline in the Texas A&M University-Commerce performance of “Always ... Patsy Cline.”
Petty has performed in bands, ensembles and acting roles from an early age. She is currently working on new stage shows with an acoustic duo and a five-piece band.
While Petty’s roots are based in country and folk, she has broad range of musical tastes and abilities.
“If I like a song, it makes no difference to me what you call it – there are no boundaries when it comes to music,” she says
Petty and her band, Luck of the Draw, will be performing at the Texas Music Awards in the Texas Music Barn at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, in Linden.
Band members include Johnny Petty, Don Higginbotham, and Jack Trentham, all of Cumby, and Joe Harrison of Greenville. For ticket information, and to find out more about the Texas Music Awards, go to www.texasmusicawards.org
