'Paul Blart: Mall Cop' nabs top box office spot

 LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kevin James bumbles and stumbles to take down the bad guys, but his "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" had no trouble nabbing the top spot at the box office this weekend.

The PG-rated comedy, starring James as a portly shopping center security guard who tries to foil a bank heist, made $33.8 million in its first three days and is expected to reach $40 million over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend.


Anne Hathaway gets starstruck over 'Slumdog' star

A starstruck Hathaway expressed her love for the actor's performance in "Slumdog" on the red carpet at the National Board of Review Awards gala in Manhattan.


CBS: Deal close for John Mayer music-variety show

CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler told a meeting of the Television Critics Association that the project is under development and an agreement is near. She didn't provide details.
