In case you are not familiar with the Leadership Class, here’s a little information!
This will be the 17th year that the Chamber of Commerce has facilitated this program for our county’s young people. These students will begin their program with a Ropes Challenge Course in September. Then there will be five other classes during the school year: “Justice, Order & Politics,” “Poverty, Crisis and Cultural Sensitivity,” “Education & Tomorrow’s Opportunities,” “Ethical Decision Making” and “Tourism and Quality of Life.” To top off this year-long program, the students will be taken on a field trip to the Dallas/Fort Worth area for a day of learning, fun, food and fellowship! The class is provided as an opportunity for young people to learn about the community in which they live, in hopes of teaching them the importance of being involved and being a leader, in whatever city they end up in! The students do not pay a tuition to participate in the program — it is 100 percent funded by sponsors. If you would like to help sponsor the Leadership Class, please contact the Chamber at 903-885-6515
