Mr. Mathews and I were talking tonight about what we would do if we could write a description for our dream job.

Think about what your dream job would be and share with the class.

I could do the beach inspector myself. It's cold this morning and I'm really not liking it at all.

my dream job would be a soccer coach for the olympic developement program (ODP) concentrating on younger players (i.e. 10-12 or 14).

but if there's any beach inspector opening that y'all haven't filled, i'd like to submit my name for that...i'm also a qualified drink taster and sun screen applier. especially if you're good looking! :D

My dream job would be to only have ONE job and that would be staying on my ranch and taking care of the animals. :cheer:

These are great.

I'd love to look after animals ... near a beach!

I'd like to be the person in charge of feeding the animals at Maui Ocean Center.

Or the person who looks after B.B. King's guitar, Lucille.

Or Van Cliburn's personal assistant.

Or the person who books Jimmy Buffett's tours.

Or the person assigned to catalog the books at Hemingway's home in Cuba.

Or the person assigned to ferret out new talent for a record label.

Or Guy Clark's housekeeper.

I don't know if this qualifies as a 'dream job' or not, but my husband wants to be the person who wears the liederhosen (sp?) and says "keep your hands and feet in the car at all times" then pushes the button to send the car on the Matterhorn ride at Disneyland when he retires. :woohoo:

Just sitting here dreaming about beach inspectioning (is that a word?), and another dream job drifted into my mind, life guard at the Playboy Mansion!

Most people will think I am nuts. I am actually about to become a public school teacher, in science. It is a goal that goes back many years and it beats retirement by a mile.

I would love to make a good living reading books. Preferably under an umbrella with a drink in hand on the beach. Carribean, Maui, or anywhere tropical.

My "Dream Job" is the one I currently have, after so many years of dedicated work.... some seven days a week.... some days....some nights....after all the holidays and special dates missed.....after doing or going "without" to make things work.....putting the children through college....after all the work.... all the savings......my dream job is my current job:
R E T I R E D.
Now, if I could just get a raise, and if Obama, the County Tax Office, Commissioners Court, and the County Hospital Board would just keep their damn hands out of my pocket so I can keep what I've worked for....

I'm jealous. I don't think I will ever reach the point of not having to work, but I can sure dream big.

I'm with DZ .... I think I would LOVE to teach. Particularly history. However, I don't know that students would like me much - there would be a ton of reading and writing in my classes -- which to me are the best way to learn (not multiple choice guesses).

I'd take over for Bob Phillips. I'd love to travel and tell the tales just like Texas Country Reporter. It would be great. Rv-ing across the hill country meeting fascinating people - capturing a moment in time. That's the dream.

My dad always laughed at all the sunset photographs I would take, and he paid to have developed (back before digital age). Think of all the postcard scenes there would be to photograph along the way.
