Interesting book on a group of WW-II soldiers with art backgrounds who try to recover works of art and treasures stolen by Germany. I was shocked by the wholesale theft by high ranking Nazis. It's an amazing story of a little known group of people who played an amazing, and unrecognized, effort to return lost and stolen treasures to their rightful owners.
It was a little hard for me to read… some very exciting parts and some slow moving parts. (kind of like reading a
James Mitchner book, LOL) But the story, the history, is well worth it. I want to see how the movie compares to the book.
Why let the truth stand in the way of a good fish story?
