WASP SPRAY

A friend who is a receptionist in a church in a high risk area was concerned
about someone coming into the office on Monday to rob them when they were
counting the collection. She asked the local police department about using
pepper spray, and they recommended to her that she get a can of wasp spray
instead.

The wasp spray, they told her, can shoot up to twenty feet away and is a lot
more accurate, while with the pepper spray, they have to get too close to
you and could overpower you. The wasp spray temporarily blinds an attacker
until they get to the hospital for an antidote. She keeps a can on her desk
in the office, and it doesn't attract attention from people like a can of
pepper spray would. She also keeps one nearby at home for home protection.
Thought this was interesting and might be of use.

Keep it in your car and by the front door.
Says right on the can not to get it in your eyes.
:)

Sounds like a good idea on several levels.

Two suggestions: keep a fresh can. They tend to go bad in a few months. Also make sure the cap comes off easily. Some of them you have to use a post maul to get open.

Hmmmm....Wasp spray at a church. For protection against wasps and W.A.S.P.s!

OK, it was a poor attempt at humor, sorry! LOL at myself.

I saw on TV that wasp spray is more effective on repelling an attacking dog than is pepper spray. The DPD were suggesting it or carrying a walking stick to fight off dog attacks after that poor man in Dallas was nearly killed recently by two pit bulls as he made his daily walk. The poor victim was so bandaged that he looked like a robot mummy as he hobbled into his home.

Yes, it's sad that we have to carry weapons, but appears necessary today. When we lived in San Antonio, an older gentleman was attacked in a neighborhood not far from our home. He was severely injured by a pit bull.

Sooooo, choose your defense. Some folks carry a golf club. They look presentable, but can do some work on a misguided animal.

A golf club is better than a baseball bat... with all that weight in the head of the club you can get more speed in the swing. Much more concentrated energy... do a lot more damage.
