Looks like I’m going to see Emmylou Harris at the Winspear Opera House on June 23. Harris is a contemporary of my songwriting hero, Townes Van Zandt. Her cover of “If I Needed You,” was a hit for her in the early 1980s. She was part of Austin City Limit’s tribute to Townes shortly after his death in 1997. Hearing her beautiful voice at the Winspear will be a double treat. (Tickets are $45-$75. Visit www.attpac.org for more information.)
