TAKS EXIT retests this week, coordinator says

Sulphur Springs High School students who are eligible and “out of school” students who have yet to pass one or more sections of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills Exit Level retests will have another opportunity to do so this week, according to Connie Johnson, PEIMS/Testing coordinator.

Weekend chili cook-off winners

Winners of the chili cook-off at the third annual  Help A Child Benefit celebrate their wins Saturday. The winners are, from left to right, first place winners Wayne Allen, Brylee Brock and Beth Adams, sponsored by Hopkins County Law Enforcement; second place winner Phill Hallman, sponsored by Lake County Antique Tractors; and third place winners Robert Cash and Ann Pack sponsored by Brookshire’s, Hopkins Lodge 180 and Cumby Telephone.  All proceeds from the event, which also included a tractor pull and auction, were donated to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center and Southern Christian Home for Children.
