Endurance racing – for a cure: Local bicyclist training for 100-mile ride to help raise money for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Helping save lives one mile at a time is the motto of local bicyclist Tracey Humphries, who is preparing for a 100-mile endurance event to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on Saturday, March 14, in Solvang, Calif.
The 43-year-old from the Midlands region of England lost her mother, Betty Wakelam, to lymphoma in 2002. “I will be riding in her honor,” Humphries said with her thick English accent.


All the Right Notes: Twenty-two Sulphur Springs choir students advance to State Solo and Ensemble contes

tSulphur Springs High School will be sending 22 choir students to the State Solo & Ensemble Contest in May. Overall, 58 students from SSHS auditioned at the Regional Solo & Ensemble Contest held Feb. 20-21 at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
