ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Yu Darvish wasn't nearly as sharp as he usually is, and the Los Angeles Angels capitalized on a few of his mistakes.

C.J. Cron and Kole Calhoun homered in the fourth inning against the ace right-hander, and the Texas Rangers were shut down by rookie Matt Shoemaker in a 5-2 loss on Sunday.

Vanderbilt beats Texas in 10th, goes to CWS finals

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Tyler Campbell never expected to even play in the College World Series. Turns out, he's become one of Vanderbilt's stars in Omaha.

Campbell's bases-loaded infield single in the bottom of the 10th inning gave the Commodores a 4-3 win over Texas on Saturday night and sent them to the finals against Virginia.

The Americans are confident their defensive depth can stop the two-time world player of the year when they play Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal on Sunday night in a World Cup match in the Amazon rain forest capital of Manaus.

 OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Augie Garrido's Texas baseball teams are always built on pitching and defense, and the Longhorns sure are showing it at the College World Series.

Nathan Thornhill and John Curtiss combined for Texas' second straight shutout, and the Longhorns forced a second-bracket final against Vanderbilt with a 4-0 victory Friday.
