Parker's 38 helps Spurs even series

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Tony Parker wasn't about to let the Dallas Mavericks leave San Antonio with two wins.

Parker walked off the court with 38 points, a comfortable lead and a roaring Spurs crowd cheering him back to the bench with a Game 2 victory minutes away.

White-Wash: Caps get back in series with 4-0 win

NEW YORK (AP) — Alex Ovechkin proved that the Washington Capitals still have plenty of playoff life even though he's still searching for his first postseason goal.

Ovechkin did plenty Monday night without finding the back of the net, and the Capitals knocked back the upstart New York Rangers with a solid 4-0 victory. Washington rebounded from a pair of frustrating home losses, got to goalie Henrik Lundqvist, and cut its series deficit to 2-1.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Dirk Nowitzki sat in a chair courtside, reflecting on the Dallas Mavericks first playoff road win in three years.

For a once "terrible" road team, in the words of Nowitzki, they looked perfectly relaxed in San Antonio, a day after beating the Spurs in the series opener.

Owings drives in 2 to send Reds past Astros

HOUSTON (AP) — Reds pitcher Micah Owings hit a pinch-hit, two-run double to help Cincinnati rally for a 4-2 victory over the Houston Astros on Sunday.

Scheduled to start Tuesday in Chicago, Owings came to the plate in the seventh inning and hit the first pitch he saw from reliever Geoff Geary, driving in Ramon Hernandez and Alex Gonzalez and giving the Reds the lead.
