Cowboys' Williams hurts left shoulder in practice

 ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — On a night meant for showing off their team and their stadium, the Dallas Cowboys provided a bit more excitement than intended Thursday night.

Receiver Roy Williams injured his left shoulder on a goal-line collision with cornerback Orlando Scandrick. Williams was down for longer than normal, then was examined by athletic trainers and shouted in anger as he headed into the locker room before the workout ended.

Jimmy Johnson: Cowboys' video boards are just fine

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Jimmy Johnson loves the video boards at Cowboys Stadium right where they are.

Johnson was in the $1.15 billion new home of his former team in June for the first event, a concert featuring George Strait and Reba McEntire, and couldn't take his eyes off the screens. He returned Thursday to film some commercials and still thinks they're just fine, even if a punt banged off them during a preseason game against Tennessee last weekend.

Vick makes his Eagles debut in 33-32 win over Jags

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Overwhelmed by a positive reaction, Michael Vick tried too hard to please the fans.

Playing his first NFL game since his release from prison, the Eagles quarterback got a standing ovation in a half-empty stadium, avoided any ugly protests and completed four passes for 19 yards in Philadelphia's 33-32 preseason win over Jacksonville on Thursday night.
