Durant leads Thunder to NBA finals

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — For all the points, rebounds and assists that filled Kevin Durant's impressive stat line, it was a defensive play he made that fired up his coach and teammates.
"That's his first charge of the year," Russell Westbrook interjected when Durant was asked about drawing an offensive foul against Manu Ginobili in the fourth quarter of Oklahoma City's 107-99 win in Game 6 of the Western Conference finals on Wednesday night.

Rangers blanked by Colon, A's

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Bartolo Colon hardly had to sit down in the dugout before getting up to pitch again, just the kind of rhythm he prefers.
Colon pitched eight scoreless innings, Yoenis Cespedes finished a home run shy of hitting for the cycle, drove in run and scored, and the Oakland Athletics beat the Texas Rangers 2-0 on Wednesday night.

Cowboys' Ware still gets occasional neck stingers

IRVING (AP) — DeMarcus Ware has never missed a game in his seven years with the Dallas Cowboys, even after a scary head-first collision three seasons ago.
Only six days after that crushing blow in a December 2009 game against San Diego, Ware was back on the field in a dominating performance in a victory over previously undefeated and eventual Super Bowl champion New Orleans.

Rangers rebound from rout to beat A's 6-3

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Derek Holland is still dealing with a lingering stomach virus that has caused him to drop an alarming 15 pounds in 2½ weeks.
His velocity is dropping several miles per hour, too. The Texas left-hander pitched through the fatigue again Tuesday night, doing his part as the Rangers rebounded from an embarrassing rout a night earlier to beat the Oakland Athletics 6-3.
