    Sulphur Springs football coaches were looking over statistics from the opening night 43-17 loss to Rockwall-Heath, trying to find positive performances to build on for this week.
    The Wildcats trek to Sherman in battle of 0-1 teams Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Bearcats lost  48-14 to Frisco Lone Star.

Offense, defense key win for Heath

    While Rockwall-Heath led 22-17 on the scoreboard at halftime Friday night, the Sulphur Springs Wildcats actually had more total yards. That wasn’t the case by the end of the night.
    Heath put on an offensive surge in the second half, gaining 365 yards in the final two periods to just 83 yards for SSHS. They also outscored the Wildcats 21-0.
