    The Sulphur Springs Middle School gold and blue teams won in recent volleyball district action against Texas Middle School.
    The gold team won 25-16 and 25-23. They have a record of 5-1 on the year.

Lady Cats
host Hallsville
for volleyball
    Sulphur Springs will host Hallsville in district volleyball action Friday.
    The order of games will be reversed. The varsity game will begin at 4:30 p.m.
    The junior varsity and ninth grades will follow.
        
C-P Eagles,
Cumby play
Friday
 District action continues tonight for Cumby and Como-Pickton.
    The Eagles will try to regroup at home as they host Quinlan Boles at Ron Heflin Field at 7:30 p.m.
    Como-Pickton is a 49-point underdog in the district game.
    The Eagles are coming off a 57-6 loss at Clarksville.
    Cumby is also playing at home against a district foe. The Trojans will take to the gridiron at Frazier-Lawrence Field Friday for a meeting with Collinsville. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
    Collinsville is winless for the year, Cumby has a 3-3 record.
    The Trojans are nine point favorite at home. Cumby is coming off a key 36-6 win at Detroit.
