    The second scrimmage of the year proved to be very productive for the Wildcats.

WILLS POINT — Sulphur Springs went 2-1 in first day action at the Wills Point volleyball tournament.
    The Lady Cats fell to Crandall by scores of 17-25, 22-25.

Lady Eagles
lose to Detroit
in volleyball
    COMO — The Como-Pickton varsity and junior varsity teams came up short in recent home volleyball action against Detroit.
    The varsity lost by scores of 23-25, 23-25 and 19-25.
    Standouts were: Jackie Morales, three kills, three blocks; Hannah Goodwin, three kills, one block; Kailee Williams 10 kills, two blocks; Rayla Petty, two kills, one block; Mikayla Stone, seven kills.
    Coach Mark Bates said, “We lost in three close games. Taylor Williams lead the team in assists, while Erica Grimaldi held down the back row with the majority of digs and passes received. We were much improved playing Detroit Thursday than we did when we saw them at the Roxton Tournament.”
    In JV action, Como-Pickton lost by score of 14-25, 25-16, 14-25, 25-22 and 10-15.

is underway
    Bright Star baseball registration is underway now for ages 5-18. Registration sheets are available at Fieldhouse sports or online at www.ssboysbaseball.com
    The first game for the special needs teams will be Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. at Buford Park.
