Sulphur Springs
softball sets
playoffs series
with Lovejoy
    The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats will be taking on Lucas Lovejoy in softball bi-district competition.
    The two teams clash Thursday at Lovejoy for Game 1 at 7 p.m.
    Game 2 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Lady Cat Park in Sulphur Springs.
    Game 3, if needed, will be played at Royse City High School at noon Saturday.
    The Lady Cats finished third in the District 16-5A softball race behind Mount Pleasant and Texas High.
Mount Vernon
wins 10-3
over C-P team
    The Como-Pickton Eagles fell 10-3 in recent district varsity baseball action against Mount Vernon.
    Cameron Matthews had one hit, knocking in two for the Eagles. Other C-P top hitters were Parker Cummings, Denton Lawson, Stone Richardson and Conner Childer with one hit each.
    Dylan Wiggins got the pitching loss for the Eagles. He threw 79 pitches in six innings, allowing seven runs off 13 hits. Richardson pitched one inning in relief walking two while throwing 27 pitches.
