Several Lake Fork fisherman helped my son when one of the wheels on his trailer had issues last Saturday. Two of them noticed the problem and helped him remove the tire and the hub assembly. Three others found a spare assembly on the neck of their trailer, offered it to him and refused payment. They just wanted the part returned once  a new one was installed. The Good Samaritans were Bentley Jones, David Jones and Tye Jones, all from Longview. Who says there is no kindness left in today’s world?

Remember to put out a sack of canned goods for the post office’s 19th Annual “Stamp Out Hunger” campaign Saturday. With the economy in a slump, more people than ever rely on local food banks, churches and community chests for basic items. It feels good to do good.
