The biggest news in the community this week is the school’s annual Fall Carnival. Please make plans to attend this Friday night. There will be stew and chili served as the evening meal, games and booths in the old gym, and later bingo for all ages.
Fall is here and the days are getting seemingly shorter. Before we know it, it will be time to roll those clocks back one hour as daylight savings time ends. Another thought that enters my mind when I think of autumn is the school’s annual Fall Carnival. This year it is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 24.
This week Bro. Wayne Darty (pastor of County Line Baptist Church) and wife, Danna (Hasten) Darty, returned from a trip to the Holy Land. Among many sights on their tour they were able to visit Jerusalem, be baptized in the Jordan River, climbed Mount Gamla and overlooked the Sea of Galilee while atop Mount Abel. With the unrest in the Middle East region, it is a relief that Bro. Wayne and Danna are now home.
How about this cool front that has made it’s way into our area? I walked outside Monday morning and couldn’t believe it. It felt like Autumn was in full swing. In fact, Tuesday morning on my way to work I saw a group of geese flying south in a “V” formation.
