To say the least, my week has been full of excitement! Have you ever heard the old saying “A game is not won or lost by one person but by the team”? How true that statement has become this week for anyone with ties to Miller Grove.
I think everyone had the same idea as me on Saturday. I was in Sulphur Springs and the weather was so nice that I thought I would go wash my truck. I’m pretty sure that about 99 percent of Sulphur Springs was at the car wash that day. Every car wash I passed was packed full of vehicles, but I went ahead and washed mine too; maybe it will stay clean for a few days now.
Last week’s snow was pretty while it lasted, but I am glad that it is over now. I was proud that it was so light and fluffy and that there was hardly any ice at all after the accumulation. Several area schools dismissed early that day and then had delayed starts the next day.
I received word from the Texas Historical Commission last week that County Line School has been approved for the historical marker that we applied for this fall. Hopefully it will be ready to install by September of this year. Now that they have approved the application for a historical marker, the Texas Historical Commission will write the text for the marker and, after approval, they will send the order to the foundry to be cast.
