Cumby locals take in whitetail deer kills

Chad and Ryan Nalls of Cumby both shot a whitetail buck on opening morning with their rifles while on a hunt together in Brady, Texas. Chad shot his 8-point first, followed by eight-year old Ryan taking a 7-point a little while later.

Local Lady bags Best Deer

Teresa Starrett, wife of Charles Starrett of Yantis, killed this 9-point buck in Hopkins County on Sunday, Nov. 7, at 5:10 p.m., using her 30.06 rifle in her back pasture. The deer had a 22 3/8-inch spread and scored 153 on the B&C point system. This is not her first deer, but it is her best deer out of the three she has taken.

Danny Lawrence killed this 10-point buck in southeast Kansas Saturday, Nov. 13, using a bow. The deer had a 22-inch spread and scored 160 on the B&C point system. Lawrence estimated that the deer weighed about 300 pounds.
