Beverly Haygood, our post mistress, wants to thank all of Brashear for donating over 1,700 pounds of food for their food drive last week. That amount more than doubles what was collected for last year. She said that in hard times you can count on your neighbors. Also want to congratulate Julie Benoist, daughter of Beverly’s assistant at the Post Office, Jody Benoist, for being recognized at her school for being good. Way to go!

Our commissioner, Beth Wisenbaker, called this morning and wanted me to let everyone know that Precinct 1 compound on Highway 19 will be open until Friday, the 24th, at 5:30 p.m. She is extending the date for our county clean up. The rain may have kept some of us from cleaning up. They will accept anything but tires or hazardous materials.

Tira News - April 15, 2009

Linda Andrasko visited with Sandra Wester and Suzan Miller from Saturday afternoon until Monday.  They enjoyed a late lunch at Lou Viney in Sulphur Springs on Saturday.  They enjoyed a lazy day after attending church services at Tira United Methodist Church Sunday morning.  Sandra and Linda shopped at VF Outlet on Monday morning and had lunch at Los Mochis before Linda returned to Henderson.
