The first day of fall is here and it really feels like it. The rain has stopped for a while. Looks like Brashear south got about 8.5 inches, maybe a little more at other places, with more to come later this week.
We want to express our sympathy to the family of Billy Frank Quarles of Garland. He passed away at age 56 on Sept. 12. Billy was the son of the late Ben and Mary Sue (Godfrey) Quarles. He was buried in Tira last Wednesday afternoon.
Another week, and the heat is back. Hope you are keeping things watered. Be sure to check your foundation — with it this dry you may have developed some cracks. We have and are going to have our foundation checked for shifting and cracks.
