My Summer Reading List - so far

When I was growing up, summer was a time to play outside, go swimming and make almost daily trips to the library. This summer, there seem to be a lot of books to curl up with. Here are a few from my list so far:

Guy Clark's coming to Poor David's Pub for two-night gig

Texas songwriting legend Guy Clark is coming to Poor David's Pub in Dallas for two nights, June 15 and 16. Better act quickly, the show on Wednesday the 15th just been added. The 16th is already sold out.

Willis Alan comes to the Kessler in Oak Cliff

Willis Alan Ramsey's doing a gig at the historic Kessler Theatre in Oak Cliff Sunday, June 12 ... I have plenty of room in my Trailblazer if you want to hitch a ride.

Phins UP ... it's BuffettTime

User Rating: / 2

Okay, parrotheads. It's time to party with a purpose. Jimmy's back on the road ... he's coming to Dallas (Frisco) on Saturday, May 21 on the Fin Land Tour. I've been a Buffett fan since college ... I got to hang out with him, Jerry Jeff Walker and Willis Alan Ramsey when they were playing bars up and down Greenville Avenue. Not that they would remember me, but I sure have great memories.

What I've read, am re-reading and am about to read

I came across LEFT NEGLECTED during the February snow storms. Am waiting to hear back from the author's publicist re: a possible interivew.

If you're going to the opera anyway . . .

If you're going into the city for the opera anyway, here's a good reason to leave an hour early.

Jessie J Dumps Sugar On Your Pop Radio [The New British Invasion Part 4]

The New British Invasion will soon bring us an artist that will without a doubt garner great attention, but will it merited and in good taste? You decide.

Has success spoiled David Baldacci? Not a chance

User Rating: / 3

20 books on the New York Times best selling list. 90 million copies in print. A foundation that promotes literacy through grants. With all his success, you might think David Baldacci would sit back and rest on his laurels.

For carnivores everywhere: THE BIG TEXAS STEAKHOUSE COOKBOOK

Oh, man. Did I hit the mother lode or what?
