Nashville, TN – Jan. 30, 2012 – Multi-Platinum singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley announced today that he will bring his Country & Cold Cans Tour back to the U.S. this spring with 20 cities to be announced in the coming weeks. Republic Nashville's Eli Young Band will rejoin Bentley for the run, along with a combination of Will Hoge and The Cadillac Black in the opening slot.

I had the occasion to be in Dallas Sunday for a concert by Ladysmith Black Mambazo, sponsored by AT&T. Before the show, Sarah Smith and I stopped at the new Jake's Burgers on Henderson Avenue, near downtown.
When Joseph Shabalala formed the acapella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo in 1960 in South Africa, his goal was to share peace, hope and harmony. Considering that apartheid was not abolished until 1994, it's a wonder anyone outside the country ever found out about the all-male group.
It's hard to find a songwriter today who hasn't been influenced by the genius of Townes Van Zandt.
