Como-Pickton beginning new planning system

The way people, particularly children, receive and assimilate information is changing, so shouldn’t the process by which they are taught adapt along with them? Changing the education process is not a new concept, just one that needs to become more progressive to fit the needs of those it serves.
Educational institutions have to “move with the times” in order to fully serve those being taught. For example, chalk boards were used 20 and 30 years in the classroom.

Street repairs on Houston start Monday

City workers will start applying the cure for the city’s biggest infrastructure headache on Monday, and local motorists may need to start planning how to detour around the long-term rebuilding project.
The multi-phase, multi-million dollar reconstruction of Houston Street — both above and below ground — will kick off Monday with the shutdown of a busy connecting road between Church and Davis streets.

Four Como-Pickton teams place at Texas SkillsUSA

Como-Pickton High School students came away from the SkillsUSA state meet in Corpus Christi with four team awards.
Two of C-P’s cabinetry teams competing took top honors at the state meet. One team consisted of Lisa Lageschaar and Irma Tellez and the other team was made up of Hector and Fabian Hernandez, Billy Brena, Angel Mercado and Alfredo Mejia.
