Expect Sulphur Springs to be crawling with Corvettes on Oct. 23 and 24 when Sulphur Springs Corvette Club hosts the 2015 Corvette show.

Charles McCauley has held nothing back this year as he pushes the Sulphur Springs High School Band to a new level of expected performance. With their first competition beginning Saturday, band members have spent weeks fine tuning their instruments and skills. 


Masons uniting for Help-A-Child tractor pull, chili cook-off

Masons from four local lodges are once again joining forces to host their annual fundraiser next Saturday to benefit three organizations which provide services and help to children.


Lights of Life holds half marathon on Saturday

Put on some running shoes because the half marathon is back in Sulphur Springs Saturday. Organized by the Lights of Life Campaign, this is a fundraiser striving to raise the level of healthcare at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. 


Burglars hit ATM at Joe Bob’s overnight

Burglars at Joe Bob’s covenience store in Birthright apparently targeted an automatic teller machine in the store.

Sheriff’s deputies were summoned to the store early Thursday after the break-in was discovered, and an active investigation is underway.

The amount of money taken in the burglary was not disclosed by store owners and no mention was made of other merchandise that might have been taken.
