Theft Stolen truck reveals multi-county crime spree

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office tipped off the Commerce Police Department that a Sulphur Springs man might be driving a stolen truck with trailer.

The investigation lead to the driver, and a woman from Deport, being arrested for multiple crimes across county lines and a drug charge. So far the stolen items have been valued at more than $300,000.

Sheriff’s deparment investigators are still recovering possible stolen items from the man’s property.

Stolen items recovered are from Hunt, Coffman, Franklin and Delta County including two trailers, two saddles, one polaris ranger, 22-foot gooseneck trailer, John Deere Tractor and multiple vehicles. The man and woman are currently in jail in Hunt County.

Investigators said that the man could be part of a known theft ring operating out of DeSoto and have contacted the DeSoto Police Department.
