Three local teens taken to hospitals regain consciousness

Two teens were reportedly sent to a local hospital and a third was flown to a Plano hospital after they were found unconscious at a Lamar Street residence Sunday afternoon. Evidence collected at the scene and other information gleaned during the investigation point toward drugs as a likely cause or contributing factor, although police await toxicology reports for a determination, investigators said Monday.

Hopkins County crime hits 16 year low, clearance rate is 94.67 percent

Crime in the first six months of the year in Hopkins County declined 26.47 percent from 2015 to 2016, setting the new 16-year record low. Overall, 75 crimes were recorded by Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office in 2016, down from 102 in 2015.
