Inmate workers save thousands in Precinct 2

You can find workers in white and green-striped uniforms just about any day on one of the many roads in Hopkins County Precinct 2. They are inmates from Hopkins County jail, and they spend their days patching pot holes and cleaning brush and trash from county roads.

SSISD enrollment figures back to normal

Enrollment at Sulphur Springs Independent School District improved and then leveled off after Labor Day, with only one more student enrolled this year than at the start of the 2009-2010 school year.


Hopkins County Heroes: Veterans recognized for service to their country

Hopkins County’s veterans were honored Tuesday during the Fall Festival Hopkins County Heroes program, with 10 singled out for individual recognition for their service to this country.
