Sulphur Bluff Independent School District stacker winners are Lydia Burleson, Hailey Halbert, Dylan Foster, and Lacy Calhoun finished in the shortest amount of time in the school's second stacking contest this year.

Students awarded Bery Best Bears for April were Sarah Harper, Keyara Wafe, Tyler Kelley, Emily Guagjardo, and Ricky Taylor.

Local officials are urging Hopkins County residents to take precautions against the spread of a swine flu virus that has killed more than 150 people in Mexico, even though no cases have reported in the area.

Wildcat UIL team advances to state; 3rd overall at region

The Sulphur Springs High School team was ranked third out of 30 school competing in the regional University Interscholastic League meet this weekend. Overall, the SSHS UIL Academic Team racked up 96 points at the contest, held at the University of North Texas in Denton over the weekend.
