Road to Recovery, the program in which volunteers donate their time to drive people with cancer to see their doctor or to take treatments, is in desperate need of help.
Withthe economy in the shape it’s in now, I’ve heard a lot of people talk about how they don’t go out of town to shop or to eat as much as they used to. In the process, they’ve discovered that Sulphur Springs has more to offer than they realized (or perhaps they had just forgotten). Isn’t it great to know money that was going out of County is now being spent right here?
New ER department a TREMENDOUS asset for our community
Hundreds of people celebrated the grand opening of the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital Emergency Room Department Monday! If you didn’t get a chance to see the ER, you will be blown away when you do see it. They have 20 patient rooms, an isolated room with separate ventilation system, padded room, consultation rooms, waiting rooms, etc. It is truly an amazing emergency room, and we are so very fortunate to have it here in Hopkins County! Featured in the photo at right are HCMH Board Members, Emergency Room Staff, hospital staff, Ambassadors, and lots of community supporters.
The Yantis High School Ag Department is teaming up with Dr. Ramy Jisha of Happy Tails Vet Clinic for a one day Pet Vaccination Clinic Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Yantis High School placed seventh overall out of the 100 teams competing at the Region III 1A UIL Academic Meet held at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches over the weekend. Four teams and six students were recognized for their accomplishments. A few students pulled double-duty, competing in more than one event, and one student once again was a standout, earning honors in several categories.
