Miller Grove announces top 2009 graduates

Miller Grove has announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for both the senior and eighth grade classes of 2009. Rebecca George has been named valedictorian and Dianne Sparks salutatorian of the Miller Grove High School 2009 Senior Class. Kelsey Steele is valedictorian and Katelyn McCreight salutatorian of the eighth grade class.

Houston, We Have A Problem

Efrain Huerta deposits tools into the bed of a truck Friday on the corner of Davis and Houston streets as part of the city’s continuing street improvement project. The project will cost an estimated $4 million and includes replacing and upgrading water and sewer distribution lines, improving drainage and rebuilding the street surface with concrete. Plans also call for adding eight-foot sidewalks on both sides of Houston Street.

Lone Star Dodge in Sulphur Springs won’t be affected by Chrysler’s plans to shut down 789 franchises across the United States. “We’re still in business,” said Robert Halbert, sales manager for Lone Star Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep on West Industrial Drive. “We weren’t even close to expecting to be on the list.”
