County pays to settle federal lawsuit

Faced with the potential of a federal lawsuit over medical expenses incurred by a Hopkins County prisoner being held in another state, county commissioners agreed to pay the amount in question rather than go to court.

O’Neal trial date set in Paris

District Judge Robert Newsom said jury selection will begin on Monday, July 18, in Paris for a trial to hear charges against Sulphur Springs physician Don O’Neal.
