Meal A Day Center looking for more volunteers; program needs of drivers, cooks and clean-up crew

Hopkins County Meal A Day Center depends on volunteers every day to prepare, serve and deliver lunch to roughly 130 older or disabled residents each weekday but also to clean up the kitchen afterward. But Mea-A-Day is now in desperate need of more cooks and another driver, people who can to help relieve the burden of the faithful volunteers who have been doubling up on their workload to make sure the job gets done.

The father of a 6-year-old boy who almost drowned in the City Swimming Pool two weeks ago was found dead this morning, but authorities do not suspect foul play or suicide in the 33-year-old Sulphur Springs resident’s death.
