Hopkins County Fall Festival is rapidly approaching and with it several deadlines to sign up for contests and opportunities to purchase tickets to events and activities.
What was billed as a “non-partisan” forum Friday night in Sulphur Springs on the health care reforms being debated in Congress turned out to be definitely one-sided. But that didn’t bother the close to 700 people who turned out and showered applause on the three speakers lambasting H.R. 3200, the Obama administration's proposed Universal Health Care bill named “America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009.”
Sulphur Springs City Council members are scheduled to meet in regular session Tuesday to consider approving the first reading of ordinances setting the municipal budget, tax rate and water, sewer and sanitation rates for the coming year.
