Pickton-Pine Forest VFD launches 'picture fundraiser'

Residents who live in far southeastern Hopkins County will likely soon receive a knock on their door if they haven’t already, by someone claiming to representative Pickton-Pine Forest Volunteer Fire Department.

These individuals, according to PPFVFD Chief Mark Sustaire, are legitimate representatives of the fire department once again conducting a “picture fundraiser” in their coverage area.

SSISD board to present 2 diplomas, consider increase in meal price

Sulphur Springs Independent School District Board of Trustees will depart from the norm during tonight’s meeting to host a special “graduation ceremony” for two individuals who have met all requirements for graduation.

Teer named manager of Civic Center

Sulphur Springs native Adam Teer was announced Friday as the new Hopkins County Regional Civic Center manager. Teer, who currently serves as executive director of CANHelp, will begin serving in his new position on Aug. 1.
