4 players suspended by NFL for Saints' bounties

Hoping to close the book on bounties, the NFL suspended New Orleans Saints defensive captain Jonathan Vilma without pay for all of next season Wednesday and gave shorter bans to three other players for their leading roles in the team's cash-for-hits system that knocked key opponents out of games from 2009-11.

Late Jays' homer sinks Rangers, 8-7

TORONTO (AP) — Two bad bounces on home run balls and a sloppy seventh inning added up to big trouble for the Texas Rangers Tuesday night.
Brett Lawrie hit a walkoff home run in the ninth inning and the Toronto Blue Jays rallied from 5-0 down to beat the Rangers 8-7.

Champion Mavs head home, trailing Thunder 2-0

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Last postseason, Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks rode a wave of late-game comebacks to win the franchise's first NBA title.
Now the Oklahoma City Thunder are showing the Mavs how it feels to be on the other side.

Rangers win again behind Darvish

TORONTO (AP) — Yu Darvish acknowledged it felt strange to face the Blue Jays. That didn't stop him from shutting down their lineup.
Darvish won his third straight start, Mitch Moreland and Craig Gentry homered and the Texas Rangers beat Toronto 4-1 on Monday night.

Mavs lose again, down 2-0 in series

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Dirk Nowitzki was hoping for the same kind of friendly bounce that allowed Kevin Durant to put the Oklahoma City Thunder ahead in their first-round playoff series.
When Nowitzki didn't get it, the Dallas Mavericks could only settle for another frustratingly close loss and an uphill climb to survive in their first postseason since winning the NBA title.
