Wildcats fall to No. 14 Paris

The No. 14-state ranked Paris Wildcats lived up to their lofty ranking, taking a 67-46 win over Sulphur Springs.

The Monday night non-district game drew more visitors than home fans at the SSHS gym as the Paris faithful made the short drive down to support their 12-1 team.

Balanced scoring was the key for the nimble visitors with three players in double figures. Dominique Mitchell had 16 while teammates Equettis Jenkins and Broderick Reed each tossing in 13.

The lone Sulphur Springs player in double figures was 6-5 postman Kedrick Dial with 13.

Hornets’ win streak continues

KEMP — The Miller Grove Hornets continue their winning streak bumping the Kemp Yellowjackets by 10 points, 42-32.

The hosting opponent could not match the sting delivered by Miller Grove's Andrew Steele with 19 points and Aaron Baylus with 12.

Miller Grove punched in two dozen points in the first half of hoop action while holding the Yellowjackets to only 16.

The Hornets cleared another 18 after intermission keeping the ball from the Yellowjackets only allowing them to score another 16.

Wildcats close early, but lose home game to Terrell, 74-54

The Wildcats were outlasted by the Terrell Tigers 74-54 in a home basketball game Saturday.

Though the Wildcats won the tip off and they got four early possessions, they turned it over in the first possession, missed the shot in the second, and turned it over again in the third and fourth.
