Not one to be outdone for very long, Jason Keller duplicated James Allen’s recent feat of shooting an 800 honor series, coupled with a perfect game, by shooting an 823 and a 300 in Sunday mixed league play this week.

Wildcats, Lady Cats competing in basketball action this week

The Sulphur Springs basketball teams will have a busy week of competition.

The Wildcats, 0-3 for the year, will be looking for their first win of the season Tuesday when they host Wills Point.

The freshman game is at 5 p.m. followed by the junior varsity game at 6:30 p.m. and varsity tilt at 8 p.m.

No. 4-ranked Saltillo wins tourney

LOVELADY — The No. 4-state ranked Saltillo Lady Lions stayed undefeated for the year with two big wins Saturday in the Lovelady Thanksgiving Tournament.

In the championship game the Lady Lions got 15 points from Brooke Lane, while Victoria Stretcher added 14 and Erika Mobley scored 10 as they beat the host school Lovelady, 54-45.

Basketball registration is underway

Registration is still ongoing for the Hopkins County Youth Basketball Association for boys and girls in grades three through six.

Sign-up forms are available at Creations by Joyce, 101 Bill Bradford Road. Cost is $50 per child. Deadline to sign-up is Wednesday, Dec. 1.
